GOTE

This is one of my traditional meals, trust me you won't regret trying this out because it is highly nutritious especially for people with sugar problem and obesity, but can be enjoyed by everyone.
Ingredient
spinach
moringa leaf
spring onions
maggi
salt
palm oil (optional)
fonio (acha) (3/4 cup)
garden egg
meat or fish (optional)
pepper
locust beans
tomatoes (optional)
groundnut (optional)
yakuwa (don't know the name in English)
cabbage (optional)
Procedure
  • boil the meat with salt, maggi and pepper to taste
  • add 100cl of water into the meat, pound or slice the garden egg, wash the yakuwa leaf and add into the water
  • add one cooking spoon of palm oil, locust beans and moringa leaf into the water, allow it to boil
  • wash the fonio to remove all impurities, add it to the boiling water, stir until it becomes a bit thick
  • add maggi and salt to it
  • wash the spinach, spring onions and cabbage, cut them  into smaller pieces and add it into the pot of boiling fonio
  • allow it to cook for 2 minutes.
